Our Story

Fareed Ayoub was born in Egypt and his Father was a Christian Pastor.  Fareed's father came to the United States to study at Moody Bible Institute and to escape persecution faced in Egypt.  He was able to bring his family to the states after he had established himself in the US.  Fareed came to the United States when he was 11 years old. He has memories of his father secretly listening to Christian sermons and broadcasts on short wave radio that was hidden in a bookcase in their home in Egypt.  He always wanted to be in radio. He attended Brown Institute in Minnesota for broadcasting  and pursued radio as a career..  He began working in Christian radio and ended up working as Communications Director at Western Indian Ministries at Tse Bonita New Mexico on the Navajo reservation.  While he was at Western Indian Ministries Fareed and Annette met and married and had a  son.  An opportunity became available to start a Christian radio station in Farmington New Mexico when the FCC issued FM allotments across the United States and God allowed KPCL 95.7 FM to be licensed to Farmington New Mexico.  KPCL  began broadcasting in December of 1988. 

In the fall of 2015 we received a request for help from Fareed's cousin Samer to help Better Life Ministries begin an internet radio  station and construct studios .  We were able to raise money to do this and in January of   2016 we traveled to Egypt to help get this started.  We also assisted with equipment for C'est La Vie Radio Rock Ministries that were broadcasting throughout the Middle East and North Africa. We were able to bring Christian Radio Industry leaders to teach radio classes for broadcasters from Egypt, Morroco, Tunisia, Yemen, and Sudan, to name a few.  A total of 7 different countries were represented.  We were also able to bring  Christian artists Jaci Velasquez and her husband  Nic Gonzales from Salvador and Mike Weaver of Big Daddy Weave with his wife Kandice to Egypt for concerts.        

The Passion Radio Network will continue to bring you the best in Today's Christian Music and National, as well as Local Bible Teachers and Christian Talk to the Four Corners through our 3 broadcast stations KPCL 95.7 FM, KLJH 107.1 FM and KTGW 91.7 FM and the translators in the area.  We are hoping to expand our internet streaming with Arabic speaking hosts as well in the future Please be in prayer about the open doors and amazing opportunities that are ahead of us.  We are your local Christian station and as such we are honored by your trust in us with your prayer requests, concerns and needs.  We are a part of this community and we care about each and everyone of our listeners.  As we head into our 35th year of broadcasting we are grateful for your support.
