Fareed and Annette are the founders of KPCL. Fareed was born in Egypt and came to the United States when he was 11 years old. He always wanted to be in radio. He has a memory of his father listening to Christian programming on a short wave radio that was kept hidden in a bookcase in their home in Egypt. Fareed's father was a Christian pastor and imigrated to the United States to escape persecution and further his education at Moody Bible Institute. Fareed began his career in radio when he was still in Highschool. He attended Brown Institute for Broadcast Communications and worked at various secular stations, and then at Christian stations in Illinois. He came to the Navajo reservation in 1984 as director of Communications for Western Indian Ministries in Tse Bonita New Mexico. Annette came to work as a nurse at the IHS hospital in Ft Defiance. Fareed and Annette met and married in 1985. KPCL went on the air in December of 1988. .
Heather is the voice of Community Calendar. She is also responsible for maintaining the accounts and donation records. She started out volunteering and now she is our Office Manager and also helps maintain the Music library and scheduling. We are grateful for Heathers commitment to helping keep the programming on the Passion Radio Network the best it can be.
Charles Rash has volunteered his time and abilities to help keep the Passion Radio Network on the air. Charles is also the Engineer for San Juan County and for our 911 services. We are grateful for all of his years of service to our community and the Passion Radio Network Charles also helped to teach radio classes in Egypt.
Alice has been with KPCL since the beginning. She is fluent in Navajo and English. Alice is the host of the Navajo Hour daily at 5 am. She is a prayer warrior and her laugh is contagious. Even if you don't understand Navajo you will be blessed by hearing Alice on the air. We are grateful for her faithfulness to this community and the Passion Radio Network. listeners.
